

Author Bio

Jayne D'Alessandro-Cox is an award-winning, top-rated, analytical historian, and critically acclaimed author and audiobook producer.
Ms. Cox was born and raised in Farmingdale, Long Island, NY. Offered a scholastic scholarship to Adelphi University in Garden City, NY., Ms. Cox majored in Business Administration, and minored in Spanish at the University of Seville, Spain. While abroad, she did extensive traveling throughout Spain, Portugal, and Israel.
During her college years, Ms. Cox was recruited by the "Jet-Set Majorettes", which performed choreographed routines at Shea Stadium pre-game and half-time shows for the Jets pro-football team, “during the, larger than life, Joe Namath era”, as she amusingly calls it.
Upon graduation, Ms. Cox worked for Northwest Orient Airlines in Manhattan. After marrying Chicago chiropractor, Dr. Douglas Cox, they moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, and they raised their two daughters.
Ms. Cox is the author of three Christian books, A Miracle in Bethlehem, A Passover Blessing, and Happy Birthday Precious Lamb, which in 2017 were re-published into one book entitled, Jesus for Children~A Trilogy of Short Stories.
In 2017, her book, a secular biography/autobiography, on Thomas Jefferson's early years, entitled Thomas Jefferson-From Boy to Man, received "1st Place Winning Biography" by Pacific Book Review, and "Honorable Mention" and a "5-Star" rating by Readers Favorite. The audiobook received a "Bronze Medal" and a "5-Star" rating by Readers Favorite, as well as "Finalist" in the Multi-Voice Actor category by the Audio Publishers Association. Ms. Cox has completed her first screenplay about Thomas Jefferson's early years, and is currently pursuing opportunities for it in the film industry.
Ms. Cox served as an instructor for OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) through the University of Virginia, regarding her book, Thomas Jefferson~From Boy to Man.
Ms. Cox enjoyed volunteering at Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, and answering questions from visitors about Jefferson's early years, an unknown era of Jefferson's life. Ms. Cox enjoys visiting historic homes throughout Virginia, and is a Jefferson enthusiast.
She is a 2003 EAS Body-for-LIFE Grand Champion and founder of the Bar-"Belles" Weights Class for Women, which instructed women on the benefits of weight training and aerobic exercise for 14 years in Charlottesville.

Ms. Cox has recently finished writing a screenplay about Thomas Jefferson's early years and final days. It is simply entitled, Jefferson, and to date, has been awarded High- Ranking "Finalist", "Semi-Finalist", "Quarter-Finalist", and "Honorable Mention" status. She is currently searching for the right producer and director to take on this project. Her web site will continue to be updated regarding this project, as it will bring tourism back to Virginia and breathe life into the many historical cities and sites.
